Total oxidation
Active sludge

Of all our treatment plants, the TOTAL OXIDATION unit is the domestic waste water treatment system with the best performance. It operates by means of prolonged aeration of the water.

The Resmat total oxidation units are sized for an intake of 200 l/p.e. Performance figures for this treatment system are as follows:
- BOD5 REDUCTION 90%
- SS REDUCTION 93%

MATERIAL
-Fibreglass-reinforced polyester.
-Polypropylene manholes.

CHARACTERISTICS
-High chemical and mechanical resistance.
-High corrosion-resistance.
-High weather-resistance.

MAINTENANCE
-Remove 3/4 of the accumulated sludge once a year.

OPERATION
-Reactor: Biological decomposition of the organic matter by means of prolonged aeration.
-Decanter: Sedimentation of the sludge.

Operating Details

The septic tank has two chambers. The waste water enters the first chamber where the heaviest matter falls to the bottom of the tank and the lighter matter floats above water level.

The water passes into the second chamber through orifices in the central section of the dividing wall separating the two chambers, thus ensuring that the matter decanted in the first chamber cannot pass through to the next one.

The same process takes place in the second chamber but in a smaller amount. The water treated will be drained out through a pipe from the central section of the tank to prevent carrying the heavy and light solids. The process of anaerobic degradation occurs in the two chambers.
